Abstract

The activities and learning outcomes of grade X students at SMAN 1 Kaledupa in chemical bonding material are still low using conventional learning methods. This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of class X students of SMAN 1 Kaledupa on the subject matter of chemical bonds through the application of Problem Based Learrning (PBL) Model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) conducted in 2 cycles. The subjects of this study were 35 students of class X1 SMAN 1 Kaledupa. The research data were obtained from written test instruments to measure learning outcomes and non-tests (observation sheets) to measure student learning activities and teacher teaching activities. The results showed that the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) in cycle I students who reached completeness were 20 people (57.14%) and in cycle II students who reached completeness were 29 people (82.86%). The learning activities of students also increased, namely in cycle I by 52% which increased to 83.3% in cycle II. Teacher teaching activities increased from 60.71% in cycle I to 85.71% in cycle II. Thus, the learning outcomes of students in class X SMA Negeri 1 Kaledupa on the subject matter of Chemical Bonding can be improved through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model.
