Until now, the existence of a creative community in Baubau City has not been focused on the formation of a creative class. In fact, this creative community is very productive, there are many in number, and the distribution is relatively evenly distributed in the eight sub-districts of Baubau City. This condition has resulted in a slowdown in the development of the creative industry, which actually has high resistance to economic crises. How is the condition of the creative class in Baubau City? To what extent are the efforts to grow a creative class capable of driving the growth of the creative industry? This study is an observation while providing assistance in agitation activities at the Regional Research and Development Agency for the City of Baubau. The approach used is qualitative-descriptive, while the data/information contributors/informants are the creative economy actors in Baubau City who are selected selectively (purposive). Primary data obtained through observation and in-depth interviews with sources/informants. The results of the study found that in the City of Baubau there is a creative community, but creative classes have not been formed. Business management efforts of creative economic actors are consolidated in groups. This means that the activities of the creative community have led to the growth of creative classes, where the Baubau City Government has also facilitated the embryo of the creative hub. It is recommended that the City Government of Baubau be more intensive in realizing the creative class through a tri-partite synergy with the creative community and creative industry players, so that the creative class can grow and the development of the creative industry is increasingly developing in Baubau City.
